Alec Williamson is OCC Viking of the Week

Toms River, NJ - Alec Williamson recently completed his first season as Head Coach of OCC's Men's Tennis program, and the Vikings were outstanding, posting a 5-1 regular season record before storming into the postseason and finishing 4th in the nation at the D-III level. The team made their presence felt from the very beginning of the season, when they kicked off their 2018-19 campaign by traveling to defending Region XIX champion Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) and defeating the Roadrunners for a 6-3 win. The Roadrunners would even the season series two weeks later, giving Ocean their only loss of the year.

"The men's tennis team did a great job this season. This preseason, we introduced a narrative that would bring us far into a national tournament. Practice was always thoughtful and productive, and the regular season matchplay kept us aware of our level. The national tournament exposed the team to exactly what I wanted for them: competitive teams with a shared narrative. Our competitors offered us a bundle of takeaways to further stoke our future success. I'm very proud of all team members, and I can expect for next season to be just as good, if not better." - Coach Williamson

Congratulations to Coach Alec on his success with Men's Tennis this season, and for being named OCC Viking of the Week.
