Vikings Baseball Red-Hot at Ripken, Returns with 5-2 Record

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Vikings baseball picked up 2 more wins on Saturday (3/10), Day 3 of spring training at Myrtle Beach, SC's The Ripken Experience, giving the team a 5-game win streak. Sophomore Nick Moglia hit a towering home run and drove in 4 runs in Ocean's 6-5 victory against Delaware Tech C.C., and Vikings third baseman Kyle Lauria hit his 4th home run in 6 games as Ocean defeated Genesee C.C., 3-1 in their 2nd game of the day. Sophomore Ian Ambrose pitched a complete game gem, scattering 5 hits over 7 innings in the win. Ocean's win streak came to an end in the final game of the trip on Sunday (3/11), when they were edged out by Quinsigamond C.C., 6-4. Sophomore Andrew Slinger scored a run and drove in 1 in the contest.

With their first 7 games in the books, the Vikings return to Ocean County College with a 5-2 record. Weather permitting, they will return to action on Tuesday, March 13 when they visit GSAC rival Atlantic Cape C.C. for a 3 p.m. matchup.
