OCC Baseball Splits First 2 Games in Myrtle Beach on 2018 Opening Day

Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Baseball team opened their season today at The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC, splitting their first 2 games. The Vikings dropped a tough decision to Mercyhurst C.C. 8-2, but came back strong in their second game with a 11-0 win over Penn State Beaver.

HIGHLIGHTS:

In Game 2, freshman Tom Corragio picked up his first collegiate pitching victory, going 5 strong innings, striking out 8 while giving up 3 hits. Sophomore Mike Calabrese went 3 for 3 with 2 triples and a double, while freshmen Kyle Lauria collected the Vikings' first home run of the season.

Ocean returns to the field on Friday (3/9) with games against Penn State Beaver and Rochester C.C., along with 3 more games over Saturday and Sunday before heading back to campus on Monday.
