Toms River, NJ - OCC Esports freshman Jackson French improved to a combined 11-0 overall record (including regular and postseason) with a 4-1 win against St. Clair Community College on Friday (4/23). French, who is competing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, lost his first set with his Pokemon Trainer, but saw something in his opponent's gameplay that compelled him to make a quick adjustment. Jackson switched characters to Zero Suit Samus, won the next 3 matches, and forced St. Clair to change characters to finish.
"Jackson gets better every week and continues to beat players who have finished in the top 10 of the nation in previous years," remarked OCC Esports Head Coach John Ruhl. "I'm hopeful that OCC is going to return to the finals in a few weeks. Next up is April 30 from Gamernook, with commentary provided by the Vikings."
