Former OCC Student-Athlete Rescues Senior Citizen From Burning Building

Toms River, NJ - Former Ocean County College student-athlete Corey Zytko is one of three students being hailed as heroes for having rescued an elderly citizen from a burning building in Camden County, NJ on March 23rd.

Zytko, a former member of the OCC Vikings Men's Baseball team (2013-15) and current Rutgers University-Camden student, alerted campus security to an apartment building engulfed in flames, and then entered it with two classmates, whereupon they roused a senior citizen from sleep and quickly escorted him out of the building, saving his life.

The OCC Athletic Department couldn't be more proud of Corey, and his remarkable display of heroism and citizenship.
