Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Athletic Department has hired Sean Fawcett as Head Coach for the OCC Vikings Golf team.
Fawcett, who served in a volunteer coaching role for the program from 2017-19, is a graduate of Pinelands Regional High School in Little Egg Harbor where he was a 4-time Most Valuable Player for the golf team, from 1987 to 1990. An All-County and All-Shore Conference golfer, Sean was the Bloomsburg University Golf Club Match Secretary before becoming an assistant coach with his alma mater, Pinelands, while earning a post graduate degree at Stockton University. Fawcett coached full-time with Pinelands from 1995 to 2007, helping the Wildcats win 9 championships, including an Ocean County Tournament title in 2000. Sean is the senior writer for Golfer's Tee Times magazine based in Colts Neck, NJ, and contributes golf feature stories in several other publications in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
OCC Golf will begin their first season with Coach Fawcett at the helm in March of 2020.
