Vikings Explode in 8th to Power Past Atlantic Cape CC, 6-0

Toms River, NJ - OCC Baseball (21-13) picked up their 21st overall win of the season in a 6-0 shutout of conference rival Atlantic Cape Community College. Ocean sophomore Don Zellman (7-1) picked up the start, striking out 9 over 5 innings until Jared Kwicinski (4-2) came on in middle relief to ultimately pick up the win. Ocean freshman Dylan Beyer blasted an RBI single in the bottom of the 8th inning that opened the game up for the Vikings, who scored 4 more runs before the inning was through. Kyle Lauria hit 2-4 on the day, and Sean Bernardo went 1-1 with a run driven in in the victory.

Ocean next faces stiff competition on Saturday, May 4th in the form of nationally-ranked Northampton Community College, whom the Vikings will host in a 12 p.m. doubleheader.
