Toms River, NJ - OCC Vikings Men's Basketball (4-2) won their third game in a row in an 89-87 defeat of the visiting Bulldogs of Bergen Community College on Tuesday (12/3).
Led by the efforts of freshman Joseph Gargiulo (22 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists), sophomore Anthony Petit-Clair (18 points, 13 rebounds), and freshmen Kyle McMahon (10 points) and John Duda (12 rebounds), Ocean led for most of the contest, but were unable to sustain a substantial lead at any point, due in part to an aggressive Bulldog attack that belied their 1-8 overall record. The Vikings headed into halftime leading by just a point (36-35), and outscored Bergen by an identical margin in the second half (53-52) to pick up the narrow victory.
The Vikings head back to work on Thursday, December 5th when they travel north to Union County College to take on the Owls in an 8 p.m. conference battle.
