OCC Men's Lacrosse Falls to Hudson Valley in Home Opener, 6-4.

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College's Men's Lacrosse team lost in their home opener on Saturday to Region 3's Hudson Valley Community College by a 6-4 final score.

The Vikings exploded out of the gate, with sophomore James Manzo scoring the first goal of the game in the 13th minute of the 1st quarter, followed by sophomore Gavin Murphy in the 12th, expanding Ocean's lead to 2-0 as the quarter came to a close. HVCC would respond in the 2nd quarter, outscoring Ocean 2-1 to creep to within one as the first half concluded. Hudson then exploited Ocean's trips to the penalty box to great advantage in the 3rd quarter, scoring four answered goals, and securing a lead that sophomore Sean Menjivar's 4th quarter goal could not surpass. Ocean sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Palmer made 9 saves on 15 shots in the loss.

The Vikings return to action on Wednesday, March 13th, when they head to Rahway River Park Turf Stadium to take on the Owls of Union County College in 3:30 pm conference play.
