Vikings Men's Lax Tops Delaware Tech CC, 12-7

Toms River, NJ - On Saturday (4/6) the Vikings hosted Delaware Tech CC in a rematch of the 2018 Region XIX championship game, and the Vikings came out on top, winning 12-7.

Ocean found themselves down early, allowing a goal just 1:40 into the contest. Vikings sophomore Dillon Clark (2G, 6GB) answered less than a minute later, and the Vikings never looked back, going on a 5-0 run and ending the opening half of play with a 7-2 lead. 

The Vikings came out energized in the 3rd quarter, scoring two goals in the opening minute, extending their lead to 9-2 before Del Tech answered with a goal of their own. 

The 4th quarter was a back-and-forth battle, with Del Tech outscoring the Vikings, 3-2. 

Six different players scored for the Vikings, with four having multiple-goal games. Leading the charge for the Vikings was Gavin Murphy (3G 3A) and Henry Moran (3G 1A). Sean Menjivar (2G), Vinny Spinelli (1G, 1A) and James Manzo (3A, 9GB) also played huge roles in the win.

Ocean's defensive trio or Justin Minniti (3GB), Colby Dineen (6G), and Hunter Vojtko (3GB, 4CT) played "lights-out", allowing less than 10 goals for the second straight game. 

Sean Tursi continued to show his strength at the face-off X, winning 16 of 22 with 6GB, and adding 1G and 1A.

Tyler Palmer had another great game between the pipes, adding 15 saves to his season total.

Ocean will look to make it 3 straight when they host Region XIX opponent Brookdale Community College on Wednesday, April 10th at 4:00 p.m.
