Branz, Miller Drive Vikings Men's Soccer Past Bucks County CC, 3-2

Toms River, NJ - 2018 First Team All-Region XIX forward and current OCC Vikings co-captain Cory Branz tallied two late-game goals to push the Ocean County College Vikings past the Bucks County College Centurions on Saturday (9/14) by a final score of 3-2.

Ocean opened up scoring in the 55th minute on a converted penalty kick by Vikings co-captain Kevin Miller. Miller, a 2018 All-Region XIX selection, pushed the ball with pace and accuracy into the lower left corner for his first goal of the 2019 campaign. After the Centurions equalized, Branz gave the Vikings the lead back in the 75th minute with an assist from Harmony Bell-Gam. Bucks responded just five minutes later to bring the score to 2-2, and Branz pushed the Vikings ahead for good in the 82nd minute by dispossessing a Centurion defender and slicing through the defense before clinically finishing the ball in the lower left, past the sprawling Bucks goalkeeper.

Viking goalkeepers Riley Fanholtz and Matt Diaz recorded 7 and 3 saves respectively, in the win.

The Vikings are now 3-0 in Region XIX play, and will next take on Raritan Valley CC at home on Tuesday, September 17th at 4:30 p.m.
