OCC Men's Soccer Defeated at Sussex County CC, 2-1

Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Men's Soccer team (5-3) lost their 3rd match in their last 4 in a 2-1 defeat at Sussex County Community College on Saturday (9/28).

After a hard fought twenty minutes of play, Sussex broke the match's scoreless tie in the 23rd minute, with a goal from Adrian Sanchez (assisted by Keiran Ouellette). The lead would hold until the 38th minute, when the Vikings responded with a game-tying score from Dom Dos Santos (his team-leading 5th of the season), assisted by Oliver Peluso-Nora

The teams traded momentum throughout the 2nd half, with both teams playing well, battling for the lead. The Skylanders took control in the 82nd minute when Alessandro Filetti (assisted by Joey Lynch) scored to pull Sussex past Ocean, 2-1, and secure the win.

OCC freshman goalkeepers Riley Fahnholz and Matt Diaz split time today, each playing a half, and each allowing a goal while recording 3 saves.

Ocean County College Men's Soccer returns to action at home on Tuesday, October 1st, when they host the Owls of Union County College (currently ranked #2 in the Garden State Athletic Conference) in a 4 p.m. Region XIX matchup.
