Cambra Shines as OCC Men's Soccer Overwhelms Division 1 RCBC, 4-1

Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Soccer extended their unbeaten streak to 7 games in a 4-1 triumph over Region XIX D-I's Rowan College at Burlington County on Monday (10/21).

Ocean sophomore Michael Cambra scored 2 goals in the first half of action to give the OCC Vikings their 11th win of the 2019 campaign and close out the regular season with an overall record of 11-3-1.

Cambra's first goal came in the 10th minute of play as he dispossessed an RCBC defender, then drove the ball past the opposing goalkeeper to give the Vikings the lead. His second goal was a skillful near-post finish which came off a well-served ball from defender Kevin Miller in the 28th minute of play. Cambra finishes the regular season with 7 goals and 3 assists. 

Also scoring for the Vikings were Harmony Bell-Gam (assisted by Cory Branz), and Evan Walters, with an assist from Aniello Lubrano. Bell-Gam has now contributed a goal or an assist in 6 of Ocean's last 7 games.

The Vikings were organized throughout the match, mixing a creative, energetic attack with solid defensive play. Ocean only outshot the Barons by a narrow margin of 8-6, but maximized their chances, and were effective in their finishing of scoring opportunities.

Ocean goalkeeper Riley Fahnholz was solid throughout the match, recording 5 saves and earning his 7th win of the 2019 season.

OCC Men's Soccer, with a Region XIX record of 9-3, now await seeding for the Region 19 Championship Tournament, with the winner receiving a bid to the NJCAA National Championships, taking place November 14-17 in Herkimer, NY.
