Vikings Outpace Roadrunners, 2-1

Toms River, NJ - OCC Vikings Men's Soccer improved to 5-0 on the season in a gritty 2-1 road win against RCSJ Gloucester on Tuesday (9/21).

The Vikings, currently ranked 9th nationally, outshot the 10th-ranked Roadrunners 10-2, largely due to the tenacious and organized play of the Ocean defensive unit.

Scoring for the Vikings were Nate Szwed (35th min) and Aniello Lubrano (65th min), with assists from Cian Scott and Santiago Martinez, respectively. With his 9th goal of the season, Lubrano leads Region 19 in scoring, and is ranked 5th nationally in that category.

Goalkeeper Garrett Brown recorded his first win, making 2 saves in the match.

The Vikings next travel to Newton, NJ on Saturday, 9/25 to take on the Skylanders of Sussex County College.
