Ocean County College Men's Cross Country Captures Region XIX Championship

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College's Men's Cross Country team captured the NJCAA Region XIX Championship on Sunday (10/28) in an outstanding performance at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, DE (hosted by Delaware Technical Community College).

The Vikings, who finished first in a field of 8 teams, ended the 8K race with 4 of their runners placed among the top 14 individual finishers:

13 - Thomas Dalessio - 30:50.85
14 - Joseph Bombardiere - 31:11.13
21 - Grant Tokarski - 31:58.43
67 - Dylan Antonelli - 47:17.76 

Ocean's Women's Cross Country team placed 4th overall, with sophomore Jessica Reis finishing 6th individually:

29 - Kaitlyn Chambers - 32:02

Upon the conclusion of the event, Ocean freshmen Conrad Spence and Kevin Knoetig, and sophomore Jessica Reis were named to the 2018 NJCAA All-Region XIX Team. Additionally, Head Coach Jennifer Nelson-Siciliano was awarded Region XIX Coach of the Year honors.

OCC Cross Country next competes on Saturday, November 3rd at the 2018 NJCAA National Championship, hosted by Holyoke Community College.
