Toms River, NJ - OCC Softball (7-11) increased their conference record to 4-1 with a doubleheader sweep against the visiting Skylanders of Sussex County Community College.
GAME 1: Vikings freshman pitcher Hailey Dries allowed just six hits en route to picking up her 6th win of the season as Ocean triumphed over Sussex, 5-3. Maggie McCarthy belted 2 triples and drove in a run, Shea Branda hit 2-2 with a home run and 2 runs scored, and Gabby Loffredo went 2-2 with a sacrifice bunt in the win.
GAME 2: OCC sophomore Bailey Lengyel picked up her 1st pitching win of the season in Ocean's 13-5 victory, throwing a 5-hitter with 3 strikeouts. Maggie McCarthy remained red-hot, batting 4-4 with 4 runs scored, while Cassidy Buckley hit 2-4 and ended the game with an RBI double.
The Vikings return to the diamond on Sunday, April 8 when they travel to Long Island's Nassau Community College for a doubleheader.
