Toms River, NJ - OCC Vikings Women's Basketball (0-1) began their season on Saturday (11/17) with a 98-24 defeat at the hands of a surging Passaic County CC. The Panthers, who are undefeated thus far this season with a 5-0 record, scored early and often, opening up a 30-2 lead after the 1st quarter. The Vikings struggled mightily in transition, with Passaic exploiting the weakness to maximum effect. Freshman Kyarra Williams led Ocean on both ends of the court, with a 16 point, 7 rebound performance, and Lea Braen contributed 5 points and 5 rebounds in the losing effort.
The Vikings will regroup and look to enter the win column when they welcome Atlantic Cape Community College to OCC on Tuesday (11/20) for a 5 p.m. matchup!
