OCC Women's Soccer Kick Off 2017 Season with 2-1 Win Against Nassau CC

Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College women's soccer team launched their 2017 season in thrilling fashion, picking up a 2-1 win in front of their home crowd against visiting Nassau Community College. 

Vikings sophomore Leena Keghlian scored both Vikings goals on the day, with the first coming unassisted in the 31st minute of the first half, and the second at 32:16 courtesy of an assist from sophomore Maria Rojas. Nassau sought to close the gap in the second half, with Haley Schmidt scoring for the Lions with 25 minutes remaining in the match, but the Vikings held on to secure the win. The victory marked the first for new OCC Head Coach Jennifer Ritter.

The Vikings return to the pitch on Saturday, September 9 at 11:00 a.m., when they travel to upstate New York to take on the defending NJCAA D-III champion SUNY Broome Community College Hornets.
