Toms River, NJ - OCC Vikings Volleyball lost their first game of the nascent 2018-19 season in a tough 4-set battle against visiting Raritan Valley Community College. The Golden Lions established the lead early, with a 25-15 win in the first set, but each subsequent set was a battle (Set 2: 26-24, Set 3: 25-23 (Won by Ocean), Set 4: 25-20), with key digs from Vikings Gianna Addalli and Jenna Kulinski, and blocks by Pascal El-Khouri and Taylor Jackson slowing down Raritan Valley's charge. Ocean's service errors were a major contributor in this loss, consistently undermining the team's positive efforts and halting momentum.
The Vikings return to action on Thursday, September 6, when they travel to Union County College for a 7 p.m. match.
