David Ripinsky is OCC Viking of the Week

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College freshman David Ripinsky defeated Noah Stockton of Patrick Henry Community College on April 30th to win the Spring 2020 NJCAAE Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Singles) Championship. Ripinsky, who amassed a combined 13-1 regular/postseason record in singles play this season, was ranked #2 in the nation heading into the postseason, and brings home this championship in the inaugural season of OCC’s new Esports program. “Coach Ruhl and my team have worked so hard to get here, and I couldn’t have done it without their support,” remarked Ripinsky. “There were a lot of challenging players, but I didn’t give up and I played my heart out.”

Congratulations to David, OCC Esports Head Coach John Ruhl, and the rest of the team on a great first season. OCC Esports will return to action for their second season in the Fall 2020 semester.
