Toms River, NJ - Congratulations to Abby Szuba and Julian Marfino, our OCC Vikings Players of the Week!
Abby Szuba - OCC Women's Volleyball middle hitter Abby Szuba (Brick, NJ/Szuba Family Home School) provided an imposing presence at center court for the Vikings last week, blasting both Brookdale CC (9/23) and Union College of NJ (9/25) with 12 points and 11 kills in Ocean's consecutive 3-0 shutout wins. The sophomore leads the Vikings with 85 kills, and ranks 2nd to sophomore outside hitter Claudia Cosme with 100 points on the season. OCC Women's Volleyball returns to action on Wednesday, October 2, when they travel to Atlantic Cape CC for a match against the Bucs.
Julian Marfino - OCC Men's Soccer's Julian Marfino (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) followed up a 2-goal, 1-assist performance in Ocean's 9-2 win at Atlantic Cape CC by contributing Ocean's lone goal in the Vikings' loss at Raritan Valley CC on September 24. Marfino, a freshman midfielder/forward, leads the Vikings (along with sophomore forward Jayson Nardone) with 4 goals though Ocean's first 7 games. OCC Men's Soccer next takes the pitch on Tuesday, October 1, when they host RCSJ Gloucester in 4 P.M. Region 19 action.
