Ocean County College Student-Athletes Participate in Student Leadership Program
Toms River, NJ - Six Ocean County College student-athletes were among 40 students selected to participate in OCC's 2018-19 Student Leadership Development Program. Entitled "Trailblazers: Your Path to Excellence", the program is designed to allow students to self-test and explore their inner strengths and weaknesses in a positive social environment. Ocean freshmen Simi Clapman (Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball), Jenna Kulinski (Volleyball, Women's Basketball), and Kyarra Williams (Women's Basketball), as well as sophomores Kyle Lauria (Baseball), Sebastian Bellone (Baseball) and Grant Tokarski (Men's Cross Country, Men's Tennis) were chosen to participate in the three-month program, which culminated in a retreat from January 9-11 at Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon, NY. In attendance on the administrative side were OCC Executive Director of Athletics Ilene Cohen, and Athletics Technical Coordinator Kevin Byrne.
"Our Student Life department do a fantastic job putting the leadership program together," remarked Cohen. "I'm extremely proud of our student-athletes who were chosen to participate this year, and of how well they represented our athletic programs."
