Ocean County College Basketball Programs Team Up to Host Charity All-Skills Clinic

Toms River, NJ – OCC’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball coaches and players played host to an All-Skills Clinic on Saturday (January 18), for the benefit of Family Promise of Southern Ocean County.

Open to children between the ages of 5-12, the All-Skills Clinic was free of charge, with donations requested for Family Promise of Southern Ocean County, a charity that assists homeless children and their families in our community. Over 30 children of all skill levels joined OCC Basketball student-athletes, coaches, and staff in a fun, action-packed hour of drills and games, all while supporting a worthy cause.

"It's always great when our student athletes can give back to our community," remarked OCC Athletic Coordinator/Athletic Trainer Scott Royer. "Family promise is a fantastic organization whose commitment to Ocean County families in need is unparalleled. It was a pleasure partnering with them for this event and we look forward to working with them again in the future."

“I am so honored and amazed by the excitement and willingness of these kids to want to help other kids within our community. Every child that came to the clinic brought several donations to fill our wish list. They are directly making a difference in helping others in need. Thank you Ocean County College Vikings Basketball for making this such a memorable clinic for everyone involved. We are all helping to end homelessness one family at a time,” stated Elizabeth Golla, Executive Director of Family Promise of Southern Ocean County.
