Esports Wraps Regular Season; Leiva Clinches Spot in Singles Postseason

Tom River, NJ - OCC Vikings Esports closed out their 8th and final week of the NJCAAE regular season with two wins against one loss, including a crucial 4-0 shutout victory by team captain Jacob Leiva that secured the sophomore a spot in the postseason.

Nick Bushell picked up a win via forfeit against Iowa Central College, and Brandon Carman absorbed a tough 4-0 loss versus Gogebic Community College as the Vikings went 2-1 on the evening. Bushell and Carman wrap their seasons with 4-4 and 3-5 respective singles records, while Luke Leonard (6-1) and Jacob Leiva (6-2) move on to represent Ocean County College in the NJCAAE playoffs, which are scheduled to begin on Monday, December 7.

"Jacob is playing great heading into the playoffs, and is looking to make a splash," stated OCC Esports Head Coach John Ruhl. "Nick finished his first year at 4-4 and will be back next semester with playoffs on his mind. Brandon got a few more wins this year, and battled through a fair amount of close games."
