French Powers OCC Esports Through a Challenging 4th Week

Toms River, NJ - OCC Esports freshman Jackson French improved his season-long undefeated win streak to 4-0 as the Vikings weathered a tough Week 4 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate competition on Tuesday (3/2).

OCC sophomores Luke Leonard, Brandon Carman, and Nick Bushell all suffered 4-0 shutout losses to a challenging Madison College squad, while Ken Piscopo absorbed a loss via forfeit to Lincoln Land Community College in what was a night that the team would like to put in its proverbial rear-view mirror.

"Brandon and Nick were in every game, but had trouble finishing their opponents," opined OCC Esports Head Coach John Ruhl. "Luke played one of his better sets, but lost to a very talented player. We are halfway through the season, and I think we're going to peak at the right time. Jackson continues to dominate. Every week he seems to pick off another ranked opponent."
