
Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings Baseball team lost a pair of games against #2-ranked Cumberland County College on Saturday (4/8), with final scores of 8-1 (Game 1) and 11-1 (Game 2).
Game 1 - The Vikings held a 1-0 lead with only one out left to play, and lost in extra innings. Freshman Andrew Slinger drove in the sole OCC run with a single in the 2nd inning, and freshman Matt Malatesta pitched seven solid innings before surrendering the tying tun in the top of the 7th inning.
Game #2 - Cumberland broke the game open in the sixth inning with a 4-run burst. OCC sophomore third baseman Tom Pulcine continued his hot hitting streak, going 2-3 with another double (his fourth of the season) in the loss.
OCC is back in action on Wednesday (4/12), with a doubleheader against Rowan College at Burlington County. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
