Vikings Defeat Union, 11-7; End Regular Season in 4-Game Win Streak

Toms River, NJ - OCC Baseball captured their fourth consecutive win on Tuesday with an 11-7 victory over Region XIX opponent Union County College. Freshman pitcher Matt Malatesta got the start for the Vikings, and pitched 7 strong innings for the win. Ocean's bats were connecting, racking up 21 hits in the contest. Matt Corsi led all hitters, going 5 for 6 with 2 doubles, a triple and 3 RBI. Tom Pulcine remained hot, collecting 2 doubles and a triple, and Tyler Kay had 4 hits on the day.

The Vikings begin the postseason on Saturday (5/13), when they travel to Northampton Community College for Game 1 of the NJCAA Region XIX Playoffs. The #7-seeded Vikings will take on #10 Luzerne County Community College in a single game at 12:00 p.m., with the winner playing #2-seeded Northampton in a best-of-three series on Sunday (5/14).
