Morris County, NJ Ocean County Sophomore Brian Sullivan's big rebound putback and one lifted the Vikings back into the lead to seal the win over Division 2 Morris County last night. Ocean County had a 14 point lead heading into the final 3 minutes, when the turnover bug ran through the gym for 2 solid minutes. Not losing composure, the Vikings re-grouped and re-gained control while executing its offense and hitting clutch free throw down the stretch.
Tied at 71 with 15 seconds left, Deion Utrera missed a 3 pointer, while Brian Sullivan catches the rebound off the rim to put it back in and got the foul call to make it a 3 point play to seal the game. Ocean County finished the game with some fierce defense in the final seconds not allowing Morris County to get a final shot attempt off and captures the road win 74-71.
Leading the way for the Vikings was Mike Golden 19 points, 4 rebounds. Ted Thelemaque 18 points 11 rebounds, Brian Sullivan 11 points 10 rebounds and Corey Thomas with 13 points 4 rebounds.
The Vikings continue this week on the road at Bergen County this Thursday @ 7:00pm.
