Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings men's basketball team defeated Middlesex County College by a final score of 93-74 on Saturday (12/3) in a total team effort. The victory gives the Vikings a record of 4-0 in the GSAC conference.
Four Vikings starters finished the game in double-figures, with two freshmen leading the charge. Mergim Gjyriqi scored 24 points (including five three-pointers) and pulled down 5 rebounds, and Roy Russell IV finished with a double-double, netting 12 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks. The Vikings sophomores were similarly on fire, as Mike Golden contributed 22 points (with six three-pointers), 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, and Corey Thomas added 21 points and 7 assists.
Next up for the Vikings will be a home game on Tuesday (12/6) at 7pm versus Rowan College at Burlington County.
