Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings concluded their regular season on Tuesday (2/22) with a 99-90 victory over Atlantic Cape Community College. The win gives the Vikings a 17-12 overall record (16-9 in Region XIX) as the playoff picture begins to take shape.
Corey Thomas led Vikings scoring with 33 points and 6 assists, and Ted Thelemaque contributed 24 points and 14 rebounds, but the highlight of the evening belonged to sophomore guard Mike Golden, whose 24 point performance brought him to over 1,000 points in his OCC collegiate career. Golden, who averaged 19.8 points per game this season, scored 574 points over 29 games, bringing him to 1,013 total points over his two seasons at Ocean County College. Congratulations to Mike Golden for reaching this momentous milestone.
The Vikings return to their home court on Saturday (2/25) for Round 1 of the NJCAA Region XIX playoffs (opponent and time are to be determined).
