Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Men's Basketball (1-1) won their home opener in front of an energized crowd on Saturday, topping EPAC's Montgomery County Community College by a final score of 102-86. Four Vikings scored in double figures in this exciting matchup, including sophomore RJ Laing's second double-double in as many games, with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Alfred Demby contributed 22 points, Sean O'Donnell scored 19 points (including five 3-pointers), and Patrick Marinaccio added 17 points with 8 rebounds. The win marked Ocean's first for the season, and the first career victory for Ocean's new head coach Patrick Boylan. "I was tremendously proud of how tough and unselfishly our team played," remarked Boylan.
The Vikings return to action on Tuesday, November 21 at 7 p.m., when they travel to Atlantic Cape Community College for their first GSAC matchup of the season.
