Porter Powers Vikings Past Delaware County CC, 76-72

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Vikings Men's Basketball (4-13) won their 4th game of the season on Thursday night (1/25) due in large part to a season-best performance by freshman Jason Porter. Porter, a 6'2" guard from Elizabeth, NJ, led all Ocean scorers with 23 points as the Vikings defeated visiting Delaware County Community College, 76-72. Porter seemed to be in the right place at the right time on multiple occasions, with 2 of his team-leading 4 blocks stopping Delaware's momentum dead in its tracks. "The team rallied behind Porter's career night," remarked Vikings HC Patrick Boylan. "I'm really proud of Jason's continued improvement throughout his freshman season." Another notable performance came from freshman guard Patrick Marinaccio, who scored 21 points and pulled in 7 rebounds.

The Vikings will look for their 2nd consecutive win on Saturday, January 27 when they host Middlesex County College in a 2 p.m. matchup.
