Vikings' Jackson with Double-Double as OCC Men's Basketball Falls to Middlesex in Season Opener, 83-64

Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball (0-1) sophomore Jalen Jackson earned a double-double in the Vikings' season-opening loss to Middlesex College (2-0) on Saturday (11/13). Jackson, a Brick, NJ native, scored 23 points and pulled in 11 rebounds in Ocean's 83-64 defeat.

The Blue Colts jumped out to an early lead, and ended the half ahead by 10 points. The lead proved insurmountable to Ocean, as the Vikings were unable to gain ground in the 2nd frame. Ocean freshman guard Marc Dennis contributed 11 points in the loss.

"We're obviously disappointed with the result, but for a group of players who had never played a game together before, I saw a number of positives," remarked OCC Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Evan Andariese. "We're looking forward to Tuesday."

The Vikings return to action on Tuesday, November 16, when they host the Cougars of Camden County College in a 7 p.m. GSAC conference matchup.
