Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball freshman Josh Kline scored 21 points, brought in 8 rebounds and grabbed 7 steals in the Vikings' 88-77 loss to GSAC rival Brookdale Community College on Thursday (December 9). Freshman Marc Dennis, Jalen Jackson, and Wes Deitch made their presence felt as well, with 18, 17, and 13-point games, respectively, in a hard-fought matchup that saw the Vikings roar back from a deficit of over 20 points to pull within 5 of the undefeated Jersey Blues, before Brookdale escaped Ocean's grasp.
"Very disappointing result, but many positives to take away," remarked OCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Patrick Boylan. "Brookdale is a very good team, and I think last night we saw that we can compete with the top teams in the region. The road doesn't get any easier with nationally ranked Montgomery County coming here Saturday, but we need to continue to improve day in and day out and start turning these moral victories to on-court victories."
As Coach Pat stated, the Vikings return to the court on Saturday, December 11, when they host EPAC powerhouse Montgomery County CC in a 2 P.M. GSAC/EPAC battle.
