Jackson Drops 35 Points as OCC Men's Basketball Falls to Nationally-Ranked #1 Montgomery County CC, 85-72

Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball faced their toughest competition of the season on Saturday (Dec. 11), the nationally-ranked #1 Montgomery County Community College Mustangs, and lost in a 85-72 final.

Ocean sophomore Jalen Jackson led Viking scoring with a 35 point effort, while freshman Bryan Potter contributed 10 points in a hard-fought loss that electrified the home crowd at moments, as Ocean raised their game to meet their difficult opposition. This was a fast-paced battle, where every shot counted.

"Despite the disappointing result, I was very pleased with the brand of basketball we played Saturday," remarked OCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Patrick Boylan. "Credit to MontCo, who is very well coached and very talented. If we play the way we played against MontCo for the rest of the year, I think we're going to see our efforts pay off very soon."

Ocean returns to the court on Tuesday, December 14, when they host RCSJ Gloucester in a 6 P.M. GSAC conference matchup.
