Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball (8-7) shook off a tough loss to Union College on Tuesday (1/17) by earning a decisive win against the Mighty Oaks of Salem Community College on Thursday (1/19). The win marked the 8th overall for Ocean this season, and the 5th in the Vikings' last 7 games.
Led by sophomore Ethan Paul's 20 points and 13 rebounds, Ocean struck early and often, opening up a 16-point lead in the first half and receiving key infusions from freshman guard Dallas Weisse to maintain their lead throughout the contest. Weisse, a 6'0" Jackson, NJ native, sunk 4 three-pointers and pulled in 6 rebounds in the victory.
"We secured an important conference win after a hard fought defeat against Union on Tuesday night," reflected OCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Patrick Boylan. "It was definitely the reaction to a hard loss that the coaching staff was looking for. EP dominated the paint and Dallas Weisse really helped us with some timely perimeter shooting."
The Vikings next travel to EPAC opponent Community College of Philadelphia on Saturday, January 21, for a 2 P.M. matchup against the Lions.
