Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball extended their win streak to 3 games following a defeat of nationally-ranked #13 Atlantic Cape Community College, 80-77 on Tuesday (1/24). The red-hot Vikings have won 7 of their last 9, and improve to 10-7 overall on the season.

Ocean took control of this matchup from the outset and never looked back, maintaining a lead for the entirety of the contest. Four Vikings scored in double digits, with Brien Dunphy II leading the way with a 22-point effort. Dunphy, a 6'3" freshman guard from Howell, NJ, is a midseason addition to the team, and has quickly made his presence felt. Freshman Dallas Weisse scored 16 points, sophomore Josh Kline contributed 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals, and sophomore Ethan Paul pulled down 10 rebounds, scored 12 points, and dished 4 assists. Sophomore point guard Dylan McCann scored 5 and led the team with 6 assists in what was a hard fought, team win.

"Really proud of our guys for putting together a full 40 minute effort, and leading from start to finish," remarked OCC Men's Basketball Assistant Coach Evan Andariese. "I think our guys are starting to see how special this group can be when everyone does their part. Great win, but time to focus on Thursday and taking the season 1 game at a time."

"Last night was an exciting win over a very good opponent," stated OCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Patrick Boylan. "One of the benefits of playing in the ultra competitive Region 19 is that your schedule prepares you for difficult challenges. The coaching staff is tremendously proud of this team. But we are far from a finished product just yet. I still believe we are just scratching the surface of what we can accomplish."

The Vikings return to the court on Thursday, January 26, when they welcome Bergen Community College to campus for a 6 P.M. tip-off.
