Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball fell to an overall record of 11-10 on the season following an 85-82 overtime loss to nationally-ranked #11 Montgomery County Community College on Saturday (2/4). The loss marked Ocean's 3rd in a row, and 2nd straight to a nationally-ranked opponent in the contest's final seconds.

OCC sophomore guard/forward Ethan Paul and guard Josh Kline continued to demonstrate why they're one of the most potent duos in Region 19, with Paul scoring 22 points, with 7 rebounds and 3 assists, and Kline 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals. Ethan is ranked 23rd in the nation with 19.5 points per game, and 21st in rebounds per game with 9.6, while Kline is the national leader in steals per game with 4.7, 12th in points per game with 20.4, and 6th in assists with 6.1 per game. Sophomore forward Bryan Potter scored 11, with 4 blocks and 5 rebounds in the tough loss, while sophomore point guard Dylan McCann dished out 4 assists.

"As difficult as this week was, losing twice at the buzzer to nationally ranked opponents, I believe this will ultimately help us in the long run, on and off the court," stated OCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Patrick Boylan. "The way you respond to adversity determines your character, and I couldn't be more proud of the way this team bounced back after the RCSJ Gloucester loss. We didn't get the result we wanted, but we will certainly use this loss as motivation for the rest of the season."

The Vikings return to action on Tuesday, February 7, when they welcome the Dukes of RCSJ Cumberland to Toms River for a 7 P.M. Region 19 tip-off.
