Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball absorbed a tough loss at home, in a 110-93 final versus the visiting Bucs of Atlantic Cape CC on Thursday (2/1).
The Vikings were caught on their heels early, seemingly unable to adjust to a fast-paced, aggressive attack from the Bucs, who opened up a 20-point lead after 20 minutes of play. Ocean sophomore guard/forward Kahlil Campbell led the Vikings with 23 points and 8 rebounds, while sophomore guard Dallas Weisse scored 20, and freshman guard Robert Giovine contributed 17 points in the defeat.
"Another slow start doomed us," stated OCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Patrick Boylan. "We dug ourselves too deep of a hole to climb out of in the first half. Very commendable effort in the second half in an attempt to come back, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. We now must turn our attention toward next week, and focus on our crucial match up against Bergen."
The Vikings next travel to Bergen Community College on Tuesday, February 6 for a 7 P.M. matchup versus the Bulldogs.
