Sophomores Shine in Final Home Game as OCC Men's Basketball Stuns Camden, 77-76

Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball sent their home crowd into a frenzy in their final home game of the 2024 season, courtesy of a thrilling 77-76 takedown of Region 19 #3 and national vote-getter Camden County College on Tuesday (2/13).

In an OCC gymnasium filled with Vikings family and fans in celebration of sophomore night, 2-year guard Colin Raimann declared Ocean's intentions for the evening early, scoring two 3-pointers in rapid succession that supplied the momentum needed to meet the intensity of a team of Camden's caliber. Colin's fellow sophomores answered the proverbial bell as well, with Brien Dunphy II unleashing his best offensive night of his 2-year OCC career, scoring 32 points while pulling down 8 rebounds and firing off 4 assists, and Dallas Weisse scoring 17, including a 3-pointer with just 8 seconds left in regulation, to push the Vikings forward by a point, and ultimately to the win.

"This was an instant classic, and a game we'll remember for quite some time," stated OCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Patrick Boylan. "Our sophomores, on their final time stepping on our home court, all contributed in major ways. Colin Raimann hitting two threes early helped us jump out to a fast start, while Brien Dunphy carried us the rest of the way with a career-best performance."

Coach Boylan offered heavy praise for both Dallas Weisse's performance in this game, and for his OCC career: "When it mattered the most, with the game on the line, our sophomore leader Dallas Weisse nailed the go-ahead bucket with 8 seconds left. We drew the last play up for Dallas, with full confidence in him. He's had multiple game winners throughout his 2 years with us, and he has earned the right to take that shot. We couldn't be more proud of the team as a whole after this one."

The Vikings return to the court for their last game of the season on Saturday, February 17, when they travel to Luzerne County CC for a 1 P.M. matchup.
