Toms River, NJ - The #10 Ocean County College Men's lacrosse team started its season on a high note, defeating the Sharks of #8 Suffolk County Community College 11-6, on a blustery Saturday afternoon.  

The Vikings were led by Freshman Tyler Kalmowitz, who scored 2 of his three goals in the second half. Sophomores John Novak and Chris Smith both contributed 2 goals a piece in the win. Freshman Christian Pongracz went 12-20 at the face-off "X" in his first game with the Vikings.

The Viking defense held Suffolk to 6 goals while causing 26 turnovers. In between the pipes in his first start for the Vikings, freshman Michael Trezza had 10 saves on the day. 

The Vikings are back in action on Wednesday (3/8) as they host The County College of Morris at 4pm in Ocean County Stadium.
