Vikings Power Past Frederick Community College, 11-7

Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings Men's Lacrosse team (8-4) picked up a impressive win on Wednesday, in an 11-7 victory over Maryland's Frederick Community College (8-5). The Cougars, ranked fifth in MD JUCO, arrived at Ocean riding high on a three-game win steak in which they'd outscored their opponents by a combined score of 47-11 (including a victory against Harford Community College, who'd defeated the Vikings earlier in the season). The Vikings, meanwhile, were coming off of a hard-fought loss to top-ranked Union County College, and were eager to return to the win column.

CJ Ayesh opened the scoring for the Vikings, with an unassisted goal at 10:39 of the first quarter, and the Vikings led by a score of 5-4 as the first half came to a close. Tyler Kalmowitz and Kiernan Quinn each scored three goals on the day, in a physical game that featured 17 penalties. Mike Trezza remained solid in net, with 11 stops on the 18 shots he faced.

The Vikings finish the regular season with a record of 8-4 (2-1 in GSAC) as the NJCAA Region XIX playoff picture looms ahead (Teams are to be determined).
