Toms River, NJ - The defending NJCAA Region XIX Champion OCC Vikings Men's Lacrosse team opened their 2018 campaign in authoritative fashion, defeating visiting Finger Lakes Community College by a 23-3 final score. The Region III Lakers, coming to Ocean from Canandaigua, NY, struck first, scoring early in the 1st quarter, but Ocean answered strongly, scoring 12 unanswered goals before Finger Lakes picked up two more scores in the 3rd quarter. Ocean attackers Gavin Murphy scored a whopping 9 goals along with 3 assists in the win, while Nick Parente added 4 goals and 4 assists, and Tyler Kalmowitz scored 4 goals with 1 assist.

The Vikings will look for their 2nd straight win on Wednesday, February 26 when they travel to Williamson College of the Trades for a 6 p.m. matchup.
