OCC Vikings Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach Matt Zuech has been actively involved in the development of the game for many years. In 1985 he started a lacrosse team at Bishop Egan H.S. (currently Conwell Egan Catholic) in Fairless Hills, PA, where he served as captain for two years and was named an All-Area player. During his college years, he played for the Washington College club team (1987-1991) and served as volunteer assistant coach with the Chestertown Youth Lacrosse Program. He also worked at the Rutgers Lacrosse Camp (1986-1993) under their legendary Head Coach, Tom Hayes. 

In 1999, Coach Zuech joined the Toms River Lacrosse Club in the role of volunteer coach, and served as a board member and vice president between 2001-2007, at which point he was named president of the club, and served in that role until 2017.  

In 2004 Coach Zuech championed the introduction of lacrosse in the Toms River Schools, and became the head coach at Toms River High School South that year as well. Coach Zuech led them to their first A-South title in their second season, and was named Ocean County Coach of the Year.

In 2008 and again in 2012, Coach Zuech was named "Man of the Year" by the coaches of the Shore Conference Lacrosse Coaches' Association and the U.S. Lacrosse South Jersey Chapter.   

Coach's involvement in lacrosse extends to the international level, as well. There he served as the Web Developer for the International Committee for Lacrosse Development and the FIL (Federation of International Lacrosse), from 2007-2009. He occasionally still serves as a consultant for the FIL and served as a photographer and web liaison during the 2006 World Games in London, Ontario (Canada) and again in 2014 in Denver, Colorado.

Most recently, Coach Zuech joined the staff of Donovan Catholic, where for the last two seasons he was reunited with some of his former club members and served as program consultant and assistant coach.

Coach Zuech was named Head Coach of Ocean County College’s Men’s Lacrosse team in June of 2018, and is eager to grow the game at the highest level.
