Toms River, NJ - Erik Fatovic, former Brick Memorial High School standout and 2017 Ocean County Player of the Year, scored two goals in Ocean County College Men's Soccer's 3-1 win versus Montgomery County Community College in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XIX men's soccer playoffs on Saturday (10/20), at Ocean County College Stadium.
Also providing strong offensive play was Harmony Bell-Gam, former Toms River HS North standout, who scored an impressive goal, beating Montgomery's back line and goalkeeper to provide the Vikings with their 3rd goal of the game.
Cory Branz, the Vikings' leading scorer (9 goals, 8 assists) and 1st Team All-Region 19 selection, provided two assists while midfielder Chandler Gibbons, 3rd Team All-Region XIX, added an assist of his own.
The Viking defense, consisting of 2-Time 1st Team All Region 19 Goalkeeper Robert Andrade, Scott Larsen, Kevin Miller, Luke Kretschmer, James Pari and Evan Zorowski, was formidable and organized throughout the match, allowing only 5 shots on goal. Andrade recorded 4 saves in his 8th win of the season.
The Vikings (#7) advance to take on the Brookdale Jersey Blues (#2) in the Region XIX semifinals on Wednesday, October 24th at 2:30 p.m. at Brookdale.
