OCC Men's Soccer Defeats Salem on the Road, 1-0

Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College men's soccer team improved their overall record to 7-1 with a hard fought 1-0 win over Salem County College.

Ocean sophomore team captain Aniello Lubrano netted his 11th goal of the 2021 campaign with an assist from Johnny Hart and Kristian Talas.

OCC outshot Salem 12-7, creating frequent attacking sequences and shooting opportunities. Defensively, the Vikings employed a very disciplined, physical presence, frequently winning aerial challenges while tackling hard and double teaming their opponent to regain possession of the ball.

Ocean goalkeeper Shane Cramer turned in his customary solid performance, making 5 saves en route to securing his 3rd shutout of the season. He skillfully handled a number of flighted crosses into his goal area and made an outstanding reflex save off of a close range shot by Salem with only a few minutes left in the match.

The Vikings return to the pitch on Thursday, October 7, when they travel to Raritan Valley Community College for a 4pm Region 19 matchup.
