OCC Vikings Men's Soccer Outlasts Northampton CC, 4-3

Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Soccer improved to 8-1-2 overall this season following a gritty 4-3 home win against the Spartans of Northampton Community College on Monday (10/9).

Ocean freshman forward Jayson Nardone struck early, scoring his 6th goal of the season in just the 2nd minute (assisted by Mattia Assante), giving the Vikings a 1-nil lead that held for nearly 40 minutes, before Northampton equalized in the closing moments of the half. The Spartans would then move ahead with a tally 20 minutes into the 2nd half, before Ocean surged with a 3-goal outburst, 2 of which were scored 10 minutes apart by sophomore forward Danny Lindov (assisted by Kerem Satar and Joao Capobianco, respectively), with a successful penalty kick from sophomore Kerem Satar registered between Danny's scores. The Spartans would add another goal before regulation, but it was not enough. The Vikings outshot Northampton 19-8, while OCC sophomore goalkeeper Dawson Kaniuk made 5 stops to help secure the win.

The Vikings return to action on Tuesday, October 10, when they travel to Union College for a 4 P.M. match versus the Owls.
