OCC Men's Soccer Shuts Out Prince George's CC, Advances to Region 19 Final

Toms River, NJ - #2 OCC Men's Soccer shut out the visiting Owls of #3 Prince George's CC, 2-0, on Tuesday (10/24) to advance to Region 19 B District Championship final, which will take place at top-seeded RCSJ Gloucester on Saturday, October 28 at 2 P.M.

This was a fast paced, hard fought match between 2 teams who had never met, save for watching film of each other. The Vikings battled it out with the Owls until Jayson Nardone broke the game open on the 81st minute, assisted by Mattia Assante. Ocean sophomore Danny Lindov would then follow up in the 89th minute with a goal (assisted by Danny Moreno) to lock in the 2-0 victory for Ocean. The Viking back line of Alex Baginski, Ethan Riley, Brett Leschinski and captain AJ Truszkowski was formidable throughout the match, winning tackles and dominating their matchups. while Ocean goalkeeper Dawson Kaniuk was outstanding on the day, posting the shutout and recording 6 saves.

As stated, the next stop for the Vikings is the Region 19 B District Championship round, which will see Ocean visit #1 RCSJ Gloucester this Saturday, October 28 in a 2 P.M. battle for Region supremacy.
