OCC MEN’S VOLLEYBALL CAPTURES GARDEN STATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE, REGION 19 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN INAUGURAL SEASON

Toms River, NJ – The Ocean County College men's volleyball team defeated the visiting Colts of Middlesex College, 3-1, to capture the NJCAA Region 19 championship on Saturday (4/1).

The Vikings, steered by head and assistant coaches Madisyn Raguz and Alexis Whitney, led both the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) and Region 19 throughout their 2022-23 campaign, finishing the regular season with an undefeated 9-0 conference record (9-1 overall).

Following Ocean's Region 19 championship victory, OCC Head Coach Raguz was named Region 19 Coach of the Year. This was Coach Raguz's 1st season in a head coaching position in her athletic career, as well as the inaugural season for the sport of men's volleyball in Region 19. Additionally, 3 student-athletes (Tyler Iozzi, Tosh Mrazek, Jake Sullivan) earned All-GSAC/All-Region 19 Team honors at season's end.

Next up for Ocean will be the NJCAA Invitational, which is scheduled for April 20-22, at The College of DuPage in Ellyn, IL.
