Men 7th at Bruce Bridgeman Invitational

The Ocean men's cross country team battled its way to a 7th place finish at the Bruce Bridgeman Invitational at Finger Lakes Community College (Canandaigua, NY).  The team raced to a score of 155 points, just 7 points behind 6th place Wells College.  Mohawk Valley was the top junior college, finishing 2nd with 82 points.

Christian Bermudez and Noah Reilly led Ocean with 20th and 22nd place finishes respectively.  They were followed by Eduardo Carvente (37th), Sam Lamberti (47th), and Zachary Piscopo (52nd) in a field of 79 runners battling the hazy, hot, and humid conditions.  "The heat and humidity played a major role in today's race, and we had a little more difficulty with the conditions than I had hoped," said Coach Baynes.  "We are going to use this an a learning experience and prepare better for each and every meet, so we can race to our fullest potential."  The Finger Lakes CC course in the site of the NJCAA national championship meet on November 12. 

Next up for the Vikings will be the Stockton Osprey Open on September 24th.
